Harold V. Butler of Arlington, formerly of Medford, a World War II veteran and owner of Mass Screw Manufacturing in South Boston, died Saturday at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 89.

Born and raised in Malden, Mr. Butler graduated from Malden High School, where he was a football and track star. He had lived in Medford for 40 years, and he later lived in Arlington for 17 years.

Mr. Butler owned Mass Screw Manufacturing in South Boston.
