Enterprise software company Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) and Sun Microsystems Inc (Nasdaq: SUNW), a technology developer, announced on Tuesday (15 November) that Oracle has chosen the Solaris 10 Operating System (OS) as its preferred development and deployment platform for most x64 architectures of AMD Opteron and Intel Xeon processor-based systems and Sun's UltraSPARC-based systems.
