Nov. 16--The first St. Louis gay lawyers' association has been set up, joining the growing ranks of specialty bar groups nationwide, fighting for the rights of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people.

Jason Hall, president of the new group, Lawyers for Equality, said it has been incorporated under Missouri law and is awaiting tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service.
