PEORIA - The pasta provided no clues.
On Friday night, before the biggest race of the year, Jacobs junior Evan Jager sat down to eat what he usually eats. In fact, all of Jager's preparations for the Class AA state meet involved doing what he usually does.
"Nothing really special," said Jager.
He saved that for Saturday.
Running under ideal conditions at Peoria's Detweiller Park in a field that featured more than 30 times under 15 minutes, Jager turned his own crank up another notch and delivered a performance ...
