Nov. 3--PURCELL -- City council members unanimously voted to hire Mike Winningham as the new Purcell city manager.

Winningham, now the Antlers city manager, will begin work Jan. 1 in McClain County.

Acting City Manager Eric Johnson will retain his position running the city for the remainder of the year.

Winningham and Johnson were top two candidates for the city manager job, Mayor Betty Gerhard said.
