Little Dominique Dawes was the talk of the World Gymnastics Championships competition in Birmingham, England, after she became the first Black gymnast to win two silver medals in the competition.

Dawes captured medals for Team U.S.A. in the uneven parallel bars and balance beam events.

She actually led competition after three events with the pummel horse vault competition remaining.

Dawes needed a 9.787 in the vault to become the overall champion.
