Some of the world's finest fossil cycad trunks occur in the Henry Mountains and Moab areas of southeastern Utah. The most beautifully colored examples are found in the Late Jurassic Brushy Basin Member of the Morrison Formation, but larger trunks, more than 2 meters long, have been recovered from the Early Cretaceous Cedar Mountain Formation.
