Oct. 31--A renovation of Duluth's once-proud National Guard armory on London Road, expected to begin in about a year, could spark a neighborhood revitalization in East Hillside.

Conversations about the potential of an area that includes not only the armory but Lake Superior shoreline, the city's Rose Garden, the Plaza Shopping Center, a bank, hospital, grocery store and more heated up in July during the four-day planning charrette attended by national experts and Duluth residents.
