Norway's Crown Prince Haakon is thought to be a regular guy. So if you should happen to bump into him during his current visit to Minnesota - for example, at tonight's performance of "Peer Gynt" at the Ordway - there's no need to be nervous.

The centennial of Norwegian independence, which VocalEssence is celebrating by presenting "Peer Gynt" with Norway's National Opera, also happens to be the centennial of Norway's royal family. Haakon's great-grandfather, Haakon VII, came to Norway when the country peacefully ended its ties to Sweden in 1905.
