Eleven-year-old Philip Parkes stood in line Sunday to get Cardinal Edward Egan's autograph.
"I'm a great fan of his and he's pretty cool. He has a lot of good character to him," said Parkes, who is home-schooled and attends Holy Family Church in Fairmount.
The boy was among hundreds of local Catholics who greeted the spiritual leader of the Archdiocese of New York after a special service at Syracuse's Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception honoring the Year of the Eucharist. Pope John Paul II declared October 2004 to October 2005 ...
