I had not planned to attend the ordinations on the boat in the St. Lawrence river. When I received the kind invitation from ordinand Michele Birch-Conery to attend as one of her guests, I thought about it for several days before accepting. My hesitations had nothing to do with Michele, a woman I have come to appreciate as a person of spirit and courage. Rather, the reservations took the form of numerous questions but ordination in general and the ordinations of Roman Catholic Women Priests in particular.
