Eaton's acquisition spurt in line with growth strategy.(News)

A flurry of acquisitions this year and particularly this summer by Eaton Corp. should be no big surprise to those who follow the diversified manufacturer, and certainly should be no cause for concern, according to chairman, president and CEO Alexander "Sandy'' Cutler.

Mr. Cutler said the deals Eaton has reeled off are not shots in the dark, but rather par for the course in terms of meeting its aggressive growth strategy.
