Petroleos de Venezuela (PDV) has found new oil reserves in the western Lake Maracaibo region, an area where the company's output has been declining.
Meanwhile, Houston-based independent Anadarko said it has stopped looking for growth opportunities in Venezuela due to the recent changes in the country's investment climate. "Given the political situation there, we're not trying to grow in Venezuela," Bob Daniels, senior vice president for exploration and production, said during a conference call with analysts Wednesday.
