A chigger, I figure, is a critter no bigger Than a dot on the head of a pin. But his bite is a fright and you'll scratch
it all night, Aye, that's where the rub comes in.
I have been sucked on, chewed, and stung by some of the most pernicious bugs in the world (bug being the generic term for evil creature too small to shoot): five-inch Asian land leeches, scorpions, fire ants, Alaskan mosquitoes, Canadian blackflies, midges, tsetse flies, ticks, fleas. You name it; it's gotten me. But nothing compares to the All-American chigger, the ugliest bug of all.
