SCOTTISH football has long been beamed to television sets worldwide to sate the appetite of the Scots diaspora.

Celtic and Rangers fans are able to tune in to Old Firm games, for instance, in the bars of downtown Boston, the Duke of Gloucester pub in Toronto or various supporters associations in New Zealand and Australia.

SPL football in the year 2005, however, is attracting record subscribers from disparate foreign lands, desperate to tune into the most wide-open footballing contest Scotland has conjured up in years.
