Carmody makes prayerful comeback.(Bob Carmody)

Bob Carmody always thought prayer was important. When he fell off a roof in December 2003, the act of prayer came to mean a whole lot more.

Carmody, owner of Better Builders since 1998, was repairing a roof when he slipped off a two-story home and landed below headfirst on concrete.

Carmody was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Dec. 6, the day of the accident. Carmody said he doesn't really understand why he survived. He describes himself as just an average guy not destined to change the world.
