PAUL'S advice to the people at Colossae is relevant to today's society. He tells them: "Put away immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire and covetousness, which idolatry. And put away anger, wrath, malice, slander and foul talk from your mouth."

If Paul's advice were followed today by the media, then most of our TV programmes would be, at best, extremely short.

The media, especially TV, thrives on the basic human failings for entertainment and titillation, and many newspapers make their living from the basic failings and sins of humanity.
