The study was published by two NGOs active in the fight against noise pollution, GreenSkies and EUAAN (European Union Against Aircraft Nuisances). Caroline Lucas claims it demonstrates that the economic importance of night flights has previously been over-estimated, and that there are no operational reasons for flying aircraft at night. The MEP hopes the campaign will convince the European Commission to consider the issue when it comes to review the Noise Directive (Directive 2002/49/EC) in 2007.
