Sep. 25--MUMBAI, India -- If you thought country's new low cost airlines offered best deals, think again. Full-service carriers like Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Air Sahara and Air India are actually playing catch up. Some of them offer fares that are much lower than budget carriers like Air Deccan and SpiceJet.

Consider this: A quick internet search reveals that IA's fare on Mumbai-Kolkata route for October 29 (randomly selected) is Rs 3,900 against Air Deccan's fare of Rs 4,774 for the same sector on same day.
