George L. Herland of Topsfield, a World War II veteran and retired light manufacturer, died Tuesday at his home. He was 83.
Born in Scotch Plains, N.J., he was raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had lived in Topsfield for many years. He received a bachelor's degree from Cornell University in New York.
Mr. Herland was an Army veteran of World War II.
