As devotees of camping holidays in France it took a bit of courage to break free from baguette culture and head for Italy.
But lured by prospect of strong coffees, great ice-creams and more than bit of pasta and vino, we headed for the campsite of Vigna sur Mar on Italy's Adriatic Coast.
We grabbed cheap flights to Venice Treviso airport (available from loads of airports) and a guide book to Venice in the hope of soaking up a bit of culture alongside all that pasta.
