THEY had polished their medals and squeezed, where they could, into their old team blazers.
This was the glittering gathering yesterday of 14 British winners of Olympic gold medals, dating back to the London Games of 1948.
They ranged from 84-year- old oarsman Bert Bushnell - a double sculls rowing winner in 1948 - to yachtswoman Shirley Robertson, who skippered her Yngling boat to victory in Athens last year.
