THE man who murdered his wife before faking his own death and fleeing to Spain has agreed to return her jewellery to her family.

Colin Whelan, 34, was jailed for life for the brutal murder of 27-year-old Mary Gough at their home in Balbriggan, North Dublin, in March 2001.

But her grieving mother Marie yesterday insisted she wants nothing the evil killer bought her beloved daughter.
