Sale Sharks put last week's defeat at Gloucester to bed as they recorded a comfortable, if uninspiring, win over London Irish last night.

In an error-strewn game at Edgeley Park, Sale's forwards wrestled control of the match away from the Irish as the Sharks recorded their second Guinness Premiership win of the season.
