Twelve-year-old Adam Haughton from Haltwhistle got the shock of his life when he hooked into a superb 17lb 4oz sea-trout on the South Tyne close to where he lives.
The fish was Adam's first ever sea-trout and it is one of the largest ever caught on the Tyne.
It took him a long time to land the fish, after which he was exhausted. It certainly shows that young anglers don't get bored during the school holidays!
