The total honey market is currently worth 60 million [pounds sterling], growing at 9.2% year on year. Between 2002 and 2004 honey's share of the sweet spreads sector grew by 5%. This growth in value certified honey as the second largest of all the sweet spreads categories, surpassing marmalade for the first time. Honey is also showing the strongest value growth of all the sweet spreads, compared to flat sales of jam and a 5.9% fall in marmalade sales.
