In 1996 I was introduced to a style of music unlike anything I had heard before. The "grand old man" of Mexico's Tierra Caliente, 84 year old Juan Reynoso, had just taken the stage at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes. My wife was seated between me and the fine fiddler Bruce Molsky. Juan's bow hit the strings and within 30 seconds Bruce and I were both crying.
