Sep. 2--MUMBAI, India -- After a long dry spell, the country's largest upstream oil company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has finally hit the jackpot with a major gas discovery in the Krishna Godavari basin.

"Gas was found in 660m of water depth and the pay zone is about 60m (which means a strip of 60m width in which the gas molecules are trapped)", drilling industry sources said.
