An experiment to see if enhanced police protection will make the towns of Fabius and Pompey safer appears to be paying off.
"I have noticed that traffic through the village and along Route 80 has slowed down," said Fabius Supervisor Bob DeMore, who lives on Route 80. "The word is out."
Pompey Supervisor Carole Marsh agrees.
"I think it's been very effective," she said.
