Manny Naft last week walked around the spacious building in Euclid that once was headquarters to Euclid-Hitachi Heavy Equipment Inc., and got an empty feeling. That's because much of the 120,000-square-foot structure is vacant.

That feeling doesn't last for long, though, because Mr. Naft, director of operations for year-old Pioneer Solutions LLC, is busy doing what Euclid-Hitachi used to do, at least from an engineering standpoint.
