If you fish in cold water, you can't help but notice. Brown trout are taking over.
During the past decade, the hardy European trout have gained a fin hold everywhere from Colorado's major trout rivers to beaver ponds and tiny mountain creeks.
This we know after having recently stepped wet out of beaver ponds, snowmelt brooks in Rocky Mountain National Park and rivers from the Colorado to the Rio Grande.
