ISSUE: What is a nurse's role in a cardiac catherization procedure? That was just one of the issues, which was raised in this unusual New York case, in which a patient undergoing cardiac catherization was attended to by one physician and a nurse practitioner. According to the patient, she recalled that the physician "yelled" at the nurse practitioner. The patient she subsequently suffered loss of hearing, which she alleged was a result of an improperly performed cardiac catherization procedure. ...
