The new Mesa Arts Center fills a niche in Arizona as a multifaceted arts center and a downtown destination.

The center, which includes a theater complex, a contemporary arts center and art studios, fulfills a long-time community demand for a place that would allow for performing and visual arts. It replaces the former home of Mesa Arts Center, an old elementary school, which provided a small amount of classroom and exhibition space but no place for performing arts.
