A former chief financial officer at Qwest Communications pleaded guilty to a single count of insider trading, agreeing to cooperate with prosecutors in pursuit of other Qwest executives.

"I plead guilty, sir," a somber Robin Szeliga said at a hearing Thursday in Denver federal court.

As she left the courthouse free on bail, Szeliga was shielded from reporters by defense attorneys who led her to a chauffeur-driven black sport-utility vehicle.
