University of Santo Tomas founder Monsignor Miguel de Benavides 400th Death Anniversary.(Opinion & Editorial)

IN six years, the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas (UST), will celebrate its fourth centenary. In preparation for the event, a Centennial Committee was created and activities will be undertaken that will culminate in the 400th anniversary celebration on April 28, 2011. This will coincide with the 400th year of Monsignor Miguel de Benavides, OP, the second Archbishop of Manila whose initiatives and donation paved way for the establishment of UST in 1611.
