A glaring omission from the V&A's current, curiously titled, 'International Arts and Crafts' exhibition is Ireland. Ireland was as much part of the United Kingdom as Scotland was during the key 1890-1920 period of the Arts and Crafts movement. She also played an important part in synthesising the movement's ideals with her own aspirations towards cultural identity and industrial and political independence.
