IO Loans: Friend or Foe?

WASHINGTON -- The national media thinks it has found a story in interest-only loans and the story is this: buyer beware.

In this case, the "buyer" is the consumer and not the secondary market agency or investment banking house that winds up owning the underlying paper.

This newspaper and other trade journals have been writing about IO mortgages for well over a year and National Mortgage News, so far, is the only publication to actually publish a ranking of the top IO funders.
