RALEIGH -- Officials from Eden and Reidsville are expected to be in Raleigh today to argue for new hotel/motel occupancy taxes for their cities, but they won't get any support from state Sen. Phil Berger, who says the county doesn't need two more tourism authorities.

Officials from the two cities are expected to be at the legislature to support an omnibus bill that would allow the cities to levy a 3 percent occupancy tax on hotel and motel rooms on top of the 3 percent tax already levied by the county.
