DETROIT _ It took "zero-point-one seconds" to make the decision.

Tennis pro Mashona Washington, a Swartz Creek native now residing in Houston, found out Tuesday that she had been invited to play on the U.S. Fed Cup team for the first time.

"It means a lot to me," Washington said. " Being from a country like the U.S. with a lot of players, playing on a team with players as high as Venus and Lindsay, it's an honor."
