You don't have to be a dedi-cated birdwatcher to find puffins fascinating. Indeed, it's possible that ornithologists, with their greater knowledge of birds than the average person, would choose other species as their favourites.
But the puffin is perhaps the cutest of all British birds to the layperson, guaranteed to generate the 'aaah' response.
