As was the case with most essential raw materials for the ink industry during the past year, resin costs skyrocketed. Prices for key ingredients ranging from feedstocks to acrylic acid escalated, leaving resin companies with no alternative but to raise their own prices to the ink industry. Even with higher prices, margins continued to suffer.
Pricing was not the only concern. Even at the higher prices, some key ingredients were in short supply.
