SACRAMENTO - Lauryn Jordan is still new to the heptathlon.

In only her seventh attempt at the event, the Oregon junior placed 14th overall at the NCAA Track & Field Championships on a sweltering Saturday afternoon at Hornet Stadium.

The transfer from nearby San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, Calif., tallied 5,367 points for a personal best that boosted her to No. 5 on the all-time UO list.
