TOWN OF PRIMROSE -- Nestled deep in the lush, green farmland along County G south of Mount Vernon, in the front yard of John and Joan Judd's farm, is a granite boulder with a bronze plaque affixed to it.

The simple monument, placed on this beautiful, hilly land almost 50 years ago, marks the place where the Progressive political movement in America gained one of its greatest champions.

It is where Robert Marion La Follette was born.
