LANCASTER - High school officials say they will intervene sooner to help teens who are failing classes and falling behind in earning credits to graduate.

Rather than automatically sending students to continuation school if they are significantly behind in class credits at the start of their junior year, school officials will identify freshmen who fail one to two classes in the first semester and recommend them for extra instruction after school.
