MEET Mrs Missoni. The Italian fashion guru is sitting perfectly poised on a large couch covered with throws and cushions she designed herself. We are in a firstfloor flat in a Victorian house in Maida Vale, her London pied-a-terre.

Rosita Missoni does not give many interviews. "My work has spoken for me," says the elegant 73-year-old. Missoni is the cofounder of the fashion house that bears her name. Her business partner and husband, Ottavio, the handsome designer-athlete known as Tai, now in his eighties, was the darling of the Italian press.
