The economically developed Yangtze River Delta in China, with Shanghai as its kernel and including Nanjing, Suzhou, and Ningbo, is becoming the fastest developed economic trendsetter in the chemical industry. There is another economically developed region, the Zhujiang River Delta close to Hong Kong and including Guangdong province in southern China, which has a flourishing plastics and coatings industry.
