The Jackie Robinson Foundation's Celebrating Excellence Gala in Los Angeles recently honored famed actress-philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete and veteran actor and breast cancer survivor Richard Roundtree.
Peete and Roundtree were recognized for their commitment to improving the human condition. Peete has worked tirelessly to bring awareness to Parkinson's disease. Her father, writer-producer-actor Matthew Thomas Robinson Jr., died of the disease several years ago (JET, Aug. 26, 2002).
Roundtree has supported cancer awareness causes throughout the country ...
