Digitel to put $400 M in Sun Cellular.(Business)

Digital Telecommunications Phils. Inc. (Digitel) is investing $400 million to increase its Sun Cellular network capacity to 6 million subscribers by end of this year and 10 million by end of 2006.

This was announced by James L. Go, Digitel Vice Chairman, at yesterdays annual stockholders meeting of the company.

With the popularity of its 24/7 Call and Text Unlimited service, Sun expects to have more subscribers for 2005 than it has projected earlier, a total of 3 million. As of this month, Sun already has a total of 1.7 million subscribers, ...
