Researchers at the Pontifical Institute for the Study of No-Nos and Idiosyncratic Theology reported today that they may have identified the gene that causes celibacy. A PISONIT scientist, Fr. I.B. Straight, said the finding rivals the recent discovery of an X chromosome segment, Xq28, that possibly causes sexual orientation to homosexuality.

Fr. Straight said the gene in question was tentatively labeled RC-1 and was located on chromosome 46. "This is extremely significant," he intoned, "since 46 is exactly two-thirds of 69, and you all now what that stands for. In other words, ...
