May 26--Supporters of expanding the small Festus Airport say they got some needed recognition last weekend when nearly 1,500 people attended the second annual Twin City Air Festival and Craft Show at the airport.
"We had a ball," said Steve Vogt of the Citizens for Airport Economic Expansion, the group that sponsored the weekend event.
"A lot of people who never even knew there was an airport here read about the event and showed up," Vogt said. "So from a public relations standpoint it was a good thing for us."
